4 Fun Ways To Experience Tractorless Vineyard’s Awesome Ethos And Delicious Wine

The team at Tractorless Vineyard have always had a strong ethos focused on creating amazing wine in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

“We combine old world knowledge with new world, sustainable techniques,” says Tractorless Vineyard’s Biodynamic Winemaker Jeff Aston.

Jeff’s knowledge in the area of combining biodynamic practices with the integration of animal systems in the vineyard is sought after globally with him sharing what he has learnt and created here in the Southern Highlands with wineries and vineyards across the world.

“Our best workers are our sheep! They graze in the vineyard which looks after our weeds and mid row management in the vineyard for us,” Jeff says.

“Excellent wine quality and long term sustainability is achievable – you definitely can have both. Our Sustainable Series and The Creators Series are testament to that.”

So, it’s pretty awesome that this sort of cutting edge way of thinking and innovative way of producing wine is happening in the Highlands, right?

But what’s even better is that us locals can taste test and enjoy what they have to offer through a range of fun and different experiences! And pre-bookable experiences at that – we are lovin’ this concept of pre-booking tastings, cheese platters, grape stomping, vineyard tours and more. Do it all on your smart phone, roll up and voila - the team are ready to roll with whatever you have locked in!

So, what CAN you do and how can you do it?

This is so exciting! Tractorless Vineyard will be opening The Tractorless Tasting Room at The Mill in just a few weeks – watch this space for dates (and our Insta feed for when it’s open!). You can swing by and do a wine tasting or pre-book a wine and cheese degustation experience. The cheese is from Cheese Etc. next door in The Mill Courtyard and the wine is of course from Tractorless Vineyard. What a fun thing to do with a bunch of friends! Or a unique experience to share with visiting friends or family.

Just something to mention! The Tractorless Tasting Room is for tastings only. It’s not set up as a bar where you can swing by and order a drink, but hey! You can do that anywhere, right? This is about tasting and learning about the wine (and eating cheese – yippee!).

If you want to have a look for yourself and see where all the magic happens, there are lots of ways you can brush up on your own wine knowledge and experience life on a sustainable farm and vineyard. We love that you get to meet the woolly workers on a vineyard tour and then have a wine tasting literally off the back of the truck with a gourmet grazing board – soooo cool. You can also spend some time with the Tractorless Vineyard team of winemakers at a Private Barrel Tasting or Guided Winemakers Tour. And don’t forget Tractorless Vineyard is also home to the Bowral Brewing Co so some tours include guided beer and cider tastings too.

And this is our fav – getting down and dirty in a vat full of grapes! Be part of the wine production yourself and sign up for some grape stomping! Of course, it’s not all work. You will get a tour through the winery and sample some wine fresh out of the tanks. Fun!

This is one funky space – we love it! Tractorless Vineyard brought this super interesting Urban Cellar Door concept to the Highlands last year. It’s hard to believe you’re smack bang in the middle of Braemar’s industrial area when you walk into the Urban Cellar Door space. Surrounded by barrels, tanks and pipes with tables and chairs repurposed from pallets, and chilled music in the background, it’s like you’ve walked right into a working brewery – which it is! Awesome for Friday early knock-off drinks, wine from the Tractorless Vineyard Sustainable and Creators Series is available to sip on and of course you can get your hands on some Bowral Brewing Co traditional beers and pure cider.

It’s also open on Saturdays and Sundays if you fancy walking in for some drinks, or in the mood for a wine tasting. Make an afternoon of it, pre-order a delicious cheese platter and kick back with friends – chilled weekend vibes! And of course you can book a tasting at any time. Check out the Midweek Tractorless Experience – the perfect way to get over hump day.

How cool would it be to have a birthday bash at the Urban Cellar Door – it’s not like you’d ever run out of wine or beer, right?? This awesome space is also available for private functions. Engagement parties, special occasions, work events….a great space with an industrial vibe and plenty of delicious food and wine on tap – literally!

So, there you go! How good is it that we have such a forward-thinking and innovative business sharing their awesome ethos and delicious products with us Highlanders in such a fun and interactive way? Click here to book your very own Tractorless Vineyard experience!
