It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Here's a list of fun things happening around the Highlands - from Chrissy meat raffles through to Christmas craft, and a whole lot in between.

1. Did somebody say Christmas cocktails?!
The new and oh-so-fabulous Plantation in Bowral is kicking off a new Chrissy tradition - The Green Lane Christmas Cocktail Party. And we really like the sound of it! It's a 2 hour cocktail party including lovely drinks and a show-stopping grazing table. Perfect for a work Chrissy party, an opportunity to thank your clients or a chance to catch up with your besties for some Christmas lurve. Christmas cocktails & catch ups with mates
Speaking of cocktails... we love The Wine Mosaic Lounge's Chrissy annual tradition of Gin Bramble and Mango Daiquiris! Hello! December is all about catching up with mates and The Wine Mosaic Lounge in Mossy is an awesome spot to do just that. Pop in for a special Chrissy cocktail or something from their long list of craft beer, Aussie and international wines, and chill out in their fab lounge. Pop in for a quick catch up or hang about for a yummy dinner. If you're doing Chrissy catch ups at home, head next door to the Argyle Street Wine Merchant to find something special. There are a lot of great finds in there and the team are super-passionate about absolutely everything on those shelves; so, head on in and have a chat about the best buys (great options for Chrissy gifts too!). 2. Not quite Christmas Day...
We LOVE this idea. Gather your group of besties or lock in your in-laws so you can celebrate Christmas with your nearest and dearest that you won’t be seeing on Christmas Day.
Enjoy Christmas lunch on the 1st December in the stunning Loch garden. Now that got our attention! Head to the lovely Burrawang General Store in December for a whole lot of Christmas cheer. The decorations will be hung, and they'll be serving up Chrissy specials all December (we're talkin' Christmas stuffing hash with poached eggs, festive spice lattes, mince pies, reindeer cupcakes.....!!). You can pre-order their famous gingerbread house and best bit, they'll serving up a traditional Christmas dinner on the 21st. YUM. It sounds like it is going to be DELICIOUS (cranberry champagne cocktail, glazed ham with mustard fruits, herb roasted turkey breast with aaaall the trimmings plus Christmas desserts) and it's going to be FESTIVE. Here’s your chance to have a Chrissy feast at Birch. And you can bet it’s going to be amazing. On 22nd December Birch is hosting Christmas lunch. Canapés in the courtyard on arrival, followed by three share courses of traditional Christmas deliciousness, served in Birch’s special way, of course. Lock it in, quickly, seats are limited for this. 3. Get into the spirit of Christmas with a partaaay.
Go Robbo Pub! The Robertson Public House and Kitchen is hosting a Christmas party on Friday 6th December for us all to enjoy. It's got everything a local party should have - the lighting of the Chrissy tree, a visit from old mate Santa, surprises for the kids, live music, face painting, carols.... it's all there! 4. 'Twas the night before Christmas...
Christmas Eve is just as special as the big day, don't you think? So it absolutely deserves to be celebrated in style, and we've got the perfect way to do it. The Christmas Eve 5 Course Shared Plate Experience at Eschalot Restaurant. See! Join the owners Matthew Roberts and Cassandra Wallace for their annual Christmas Eve gathering, which is a warm and welcoming night of amazing food (hello 11 chef hats!) in the prettiest building we ever did see! 5. A special Christmas day lunch.
Heading out for Christmas lunch has to be one of the best Christmas traditions. Who’s with us on that?! We’re spoiled for choice in the Highlands; all of the Chrissy Day lunch options sound a-a-a-amazing.
Discover your options here. And they all sound SO GOOD! Like the Christmas Buffet Lunch at Peppers Manor House - Katers Restaurant. Ooooh can’t you just picture the mouth-watering stations of delicious food? Station after station…. all to be eaten… You just know that a Christmas buffet at the award-winning Katers isn't going to be your average buffet, that’s for sure! 6. Outsource it, baby!
The festive period can get crazy hectic with all the fun and festivities. So why not get some help and outsource. Check out your options to get your festive parties (and Christmas day lunch) catered. Genius!
You could get the whole shebang catered for, or just opt for side dishes and salads. Either way, all we hear is less prep and less washing up. Winning.
Check out Bendooley Estate Larder who have launched their catering menu just in time for Chrissy (oh, yum!). We’ve been big fans of Bendooley forever and of Bendooley Estate Larder since they opened, so we were excited to hear they are doing catering now! Featuring the fresh and delicious food you find at the Larder every day, the guys can cater for small lunches right through to dinners for larger groups.
Boutique caterer Black Hen Kitchen launches a special Christmas catering menu each year for you to choose from (including her incredible desserts through to the whole Chrissy lunch) and the much-loved Glass Cafe caters for functions all around the Highlands, so get in touch to chat.

7. Christmas carols. Falalalala la la la la.

8. Experience something a little extra spesh.
Treat yourself to something special for Christmas. Or maybe drop some hints to a certain someone to treat you to something special for Christmas. Up Close And Personal With Jimmy Barnes At The Loch could definitely be that something special...

9. Take it outside.
We all have friends and fam who love visiting us in the beautiful Southern Highlands. And that can step up a notch at Christmas time! 10. For the kids.
As if it's not already all about the kids at Christmas, then there's this party for them at the Mittagong RSL! Sounds pretty awesome to us! Big kids, put it in your diary for 8th December.

We've all got to do it, so why not make the most of it? Shopping for gifts can be part of the fun too - it doesn't need to be a drag, right?
The Moss Vale Festive Foraging Late Night Shopping night will be so much fun - prizes, foraging maps to follow, carols and the Clauses too! Pop into the pub for dinner and a drink too.
Shops on and around Bong Bong St in Bowral will be open until 7.30pm on the three Thursdays before Christmas - sounds like a night of shopping & dinner to us! Who's in?
Highlands markets are extra-fab during December plus some extra ones to look out for with the Bowral Twilight Market, Bargo Carols, Lights and Bites, the SHAC Christmas Market, the Sturt Gallery Artisans Night Market and the Oxley College Twilight Makers Market - all with fab stalls, food, drinks and general merriment!

13. DIY Christmas fun.
December = summer = picnics. Perfect for big festive gatherings with your fam and friends.
The picnic hamper is the most important part of the picnic (besides the view!). Attention must be paid. That's a job for Mrs Oldbucks Pantry and The Dairy Store at The Robertson Cheese Factory. Filled with so much deliciousness (sauces, jams, honey, cheeeeeeese, sweets...). Pop in and fill your basket to help make your festive picnic that little bit more special.

15. 'Tis the season to be jolly.
We're pretty darn lucky that we're surrounded by some fabulous vineyards and cellar doors. There aren't too many places where you can spend the afternoon in your own home town visiting some of the most picture-perfect vineyards. So - new tradition - we love the idea of taking some time out to pop into our local vineyards for a little visit, say hey and discover some new faves. Find yourself a special festive drop of local Highlands wine (or spirits) to take along to your Christmas celebrations (and great for gifts too).
16. Have fun, stay safe
If you do find yourself indulging in a cocktail or two over the festive season, remember to enjoy your festive drinks responsibly, friends. Know your limits and make sure you drink pleeeeeenty of water too. And if you do choose to drink, please stay safe and never, ever drink and drive. We have taxi and hire car services to call on.
