Welby Garden Centre Workshop - Soil Food Web
This is a great opportunity to access the world renowned teachings of Elaine Ingham in the Southern Highlands. Normally these courses are conducted in Lismore where the Australian branch of the Soil Food Institute resides but after an enthusiastic expression of interest from the Highlands we have been able to bring the course and trainers here. Part 1 (16th, 17th, 18th Feb) This covers small scale compost making, brewing compost teas and introduction to identifying and making qualitative assays on soil biology using a microscope. Part 2 (20th, 21st, 22nd Feb) This part deepens your understanding of what you see under the microscope. It will develop a qualitative analysis to determine baseline biological activity for your teas and composts. We will conduct experiments to view changes in beneficial organisms with different additives of biological foods and other inputs. Whether you chose to do one or both parts you will come away with a deeper understanding of the life in your soil. Your trainer will be Chris from the Soil Food Institute. More information about the course is available from the link below as well as information on purchasing your own microscope for use on the course and beyond. Please let use know if you need to borrow a microscope as we are looking into the option of hiring some. The ticketing link will just take you to the Soil Food Web. Just complete the online form and Chris will send you an application form, don't be put off if you don't see the Highlands listed as a course, it just means that you're getting this invite just for you! It's time to get your hands dirty!
